Yes the kaftans are here again…..
At one point the words ‘Tie-Dye’ filled us with horrible thoughts of 90s style baggy T-shirts with patterns reminiscent of fluorescent vomit but we’re about to do a complete U-turn as tie-dye is set to be the ‘It’ print of the season.
We know it sounds scary and you probably don’t want to jump on this trend but forget neon pink and yellow swirls and think ocean blues in the marble effect. You don’t have to go all hippy to try tie-dye as any colour works.
This season the trend is to wear pieces where the colours blend into each other naturally rather than the retro splashy style and trust us it’s a lot classier.
Designers including Tracey Reese and Josh Goot used the technique in their Spring/ Summer 09 shows proving this look is going to be big this season. And Angelina Jolie got on-board a whole year early choosing a brown tie-dye dress to hide her pregnancy bump.
If all-over tie-dye is a bit too much for you try a skirt in the pattern against a plain white or black vest top for a great look which works day or night just switch between gladiator sandals and heels.
